27 January 2009 - UK Treasury Committee Hearing
Andrew Baker took part in the UK’s Treasury Committee hearing on the banking crisis, along with Doug Shaw of BlackRock, Paul Marshall of Marshall Wace, Stephen Zimmerman of NewSmith, and Chris Hohn of TCI.  This hearing was part of a broader enquiry into the banking crisis on which the Committee will report back to the British government.  This hearing was the UK industry’s first opportunity to appear in front of a committee of MPs and put its case; to watch the hearing please click here.

Following the short-selling restrictions imposed by regulators in the UK and US, Florence Lombard, CEO of AIMA, was invited to appear on BBC News 24. She spoke on the benefits of short-selling and the negative implications that restrictions will have on financial markets.
